Tahitian Pearls

Exotic and very popular in the last decade, the Tahitian or Black South Sea Pearls have been cherished and admired world wide for their incredibly exotic colors and mirror-like luster.

These gorgeous beauties have been a favorite with many of our clients on many different occasions. Lustrous and Eye-catching, these beauties look great for any occasion throughout the year.

They are primarily cultivated around the islands of French Polynesia, around Tahiti. These Black pearls are formed when that piece of sand gets stuck in the body of a very specific type of oyster, the Tahitian black-lipped Pinctada margaritifera.

These pearls are mostly referred to as black, but have a remarkable color range that covers the spectrum - from light, creamy white and grey, to regal greens, iridescent peacock and deep black. Their distinct way of refracting and reflecting light, makes them display a veritable rainbow of colors.

Worn as a single pearl or as used as a part of a diamond and gemstone piece of jewelry, these pearls stand out and add a timeless and very classy touch to any piece of jewelry.
